SECAM welcomes the new Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana

On the 19th of September 2020, the team at the SECAM Secretariat welcomed the new Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, His Excellency, Archbishop Henryk Mieczysław Jagodziński, who arrived in the country on the 8th of September 2020.

The purpose of his visit was to familiarize himself with the Secretariat.

During the visit, Archbishop Jagodziński thanked the three Secretaries General and staff members of the Secretariat for the warm welcome. He further mentioned that prior to his trip to Ghana, he met with Pope Francis in August 2020 and they discussed issues related to Africa and particularly Ghana. He then conveyed the warm greetings of His Holiness Pope Francis to Ghanaians and all African people.

Archbishop Jagodziński celebrated Holy Mass with the staff of the Secretariat; he indicated that “the Holy Eucharist is the basis of brotherhood among us” and he expressed the continued need for fraternity which is very important for the church in Africa and the Universal Church as a whole.

He gave the staff the Apostolic blessing and after that a common meal was shared with him.
