The Bishops of Africa and Madagascar have congratulated Most Rev. Matthew Ishaya Audu on his installation as Archbishop of Jos in Nigeria that took place on Tuesday, 31st March 2020.
This was in a message of his Eminence Philippe Cardinal Ouédraogo, Archbishop of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and President of SECAM to Archbishop Audu.
The Bishops acknowledged the outstanding contribution of Most Rev. Ishaya Audu to the Church and the society as Bishop of Lafia, and had no doubt that he would continue to work with his brother Bishops in Nigeria for a harmonious and peaceful coexistence between different ethnic, cultural, political and religious groups.
The installation ceremony was officiated by the Archbishop of Abuja, Most Rev. Ignatius Ayau Kaigama and attended by a limited number of people due to directives to limit public gatherings in Nigeria in the wake of COVID-19, which was gradually spreading in the country.
