This page will help SECAM staff members configure their SECAM email address.
Please note that your SECAM webmail username and password is not necessarily the same as your SECAM site membership username and password. Do not confuse the two.
If you are using a mail client like Outlook, the SMTP server (incoming and outgoing) is: server.hashgroups.com
Please follow the instructions below:

Section A: How to access your SECAM webmail and email settings (for SECAM members only)
- Click here to go to the Webmail login and login with your new SECAM email address and password. Note: If you do not know your SECAM email or password then use this form to contact us and we will reset your password or send you your email address. You may also view members email addresses by logging in to the members area and viewing the Private area.
- Once you have successfully logged in you will arrive at a page like the one below where you can view or compose email.
- To access settings for your email account click the back arrow (top left in your browser) until you reach a page that looks like the image below. From here you can change your email password, access forwarding options and configure various settings as you wish. We recommend using Roundcube to manage your email.
- (The following is optional) If you wish to use a mail client for your SECAM email (eg Microsoft Outlook) select « Configure Mail Client » and use the recommended « Secure SSL/TLS Settings ».

The following two sections are for those who wish to link their new SECAM email to their email account on Google (Gmail) / Yahoo
Section B: For Yahoo users
Receiving email: All email sent to your new SECAM email address will by default be forwarded to your existing Yahoo account. If you do not wish SECAM email to be forwarded to your old account you can disable this under « forwarding options » (see above).
Sending email: You have have the freedom to be able to send emails using your new SECAM address when logged into your Yahoo account. In which case, follow these instructions:
1) Log into Yahoo and go to the cog (gear) icon (top right) and select « settings » and then click “Writing email »
2) Next to « Add send-only address » type in the email address you wish to send from and click “verify”.
3) Check your email and you should receive an email with the instruction « Please use this link to complete verification »
4) Only after clicking the verification link in the email will you have the option to send an email from the specified email address in Yahoo (see drop down next to « from »)
5) When sending email in Yahoo click « Compose » and you can now choose your SECAM default email address that you wish to send emails from.
6) Send a test email with your new email address to mod@secam.org (SECAM system moderation) to confirm with the email admin that your email has been set up correctly.

Section C: For Gmail (Google) users
Receiving email: All email sent to your new SECAM email address will by default be forwarded to your existing Gmail account. If you do not wish SECAM email to be forwarded to your old account you can disable this under « forwarding options » (see above).
Sending email: You have have the freedom to be able to send emails using your new SECAM address when logged into your Gmail account. In which case, follow these instructions:
1) Log into the Google (gmail) account you wish to associate with your SECAM email address
2) Go to your gmail inbox
3) Click on the gear icon (top right)
4) Click on settings
5) Click on « Accounts and import »
6) If you have previously setup your SECAM mail with gmail then under « Send Mail as » click « edit info » alongside your Secam account and then jump to step 11 (below)
7) If you have NOT previously setup your SECAM mail with gmail look for the section that says « send mail as » and click on « Add another email address you own ». A pop up box will open called « Add another email address you own »
8) Under name. fill in your own SECAM function eg: « Secam Secretariat »
9) Under email address add your new SECAM email address
10) Make sure that « Treat as an alias » is selected and then click « next step »
11) For SMTP server add: server.hashgroups.com
12) Port must be 465
13) For username add your SECAM email address
14) Add the secure password that you use for logging into your SECAM webmail.
15) Make sure that the secured connection is SSL, then SAVE and exit.
(The remaining steps are for new setups)
16) A new pop up box will open: « Confirm verification »
17) Check your email and copy and paste the confirmation code into the pop up box
18 ) Compose a new email and you will see you now have an additional choice of which email address to send from
19) Send a test email with your new email address to mod@secam.org to confirm with the SECAM system moderator that your email has been set up correctly
20) Go to your « Accounts and imports » settings in gmail and in the section « Send mail as » set the default email address you would like to use.
