The 23rd International St. Francis de Sales Days has ended in Lourdes France with a call on journalists and all other communications persons to challenge violence whilst communicating the truth, beauty and goodness.
This call was made by the Prefect of the Dicastery of Communication at the Vatican, Paolo Ruffini, during the opening of the 3-day conference on 30th January 2019 in Lourdes.
The President of SIGNIS World, Helen Osman, also encouraged media persons to let their convictions lead them to commune better with others and to understand that one’s truth is not what others must see or accept as truth.
The International St. Francis de Sales Days is an annual event which brings together professional journalists of the Catholic media and Church Communications Coordinators.
This year’s event was from 30 January to 1 February 2019. It brought together about 250 professionals from about 26 countries from the different continents of the world.
St. Francis de Sales is the Patron of Catholic writers, the Catholic press, the deaf, journalists, adult education.
